Professor Obiamalu elected as new Dean, Faculty of Arts
Professor Greg Obiamalu of the Department of Linguistics has just been elected as the new Dean, Faculty of Arts at a Special Faculty Board.
The election was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Esimone, FAS who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Frederick Odibo, and the Registrar, Barr. Philomena Okoye.
Professor Obiamalu polled a total of 109 votes to defeat Professor Maduabuchi Dukor (52votes), Professor Paul Ogugua (20votes) both from Philosophy Department and Professor Charles Nwadigwe (14 votes) of the Department of Theatre and Film Studies Department.
A total of 196 voters were accredited, while 1 invalid vote was recorded.
